Axe cleaving stone in Huashan West Peak is a famous stone scenery in Huashan. It is named after the legend of Chenxiang cleaving mountain to save his mother.

It is said that the third Virgin Mary, the niece of the Jade Emperor, was married privately because she admired Liu Yanchang's beauty and talent. Yang Jian, the God of Erlang, pressed Sansheng's mother under the huge stone of Xifeng for violating the tiantiao. Three virgin stone under the birth of children, named Aquilaria. When he grew up, he was instructed by the immortal master to cleave the boulder with a magic axe and reunite his mother and son.

The stone is more than one foot high and several feet long. The fence waist is divided into three sections, just like an axe. There is a hole between the bottom of the stone and the top of the peak, which only allows one person to climb in. When you enter the cave and lie on your back, you can see that the top of the cave is uneven, like the mark left by a woman lying down, and the indentation of the abdomen and breast is clear. There are many records of this strange phenomenon in historical records.

There is a huge iron axe beside the stone. It was made by later generations to tell stories. There is a poem on the handle of the axe: "the treasure axe of the immortal family, seven feet has five feet. Give Chenxiang, cut the mountain to save my mother. " More tourists take photos here.

Ancient cypress line: Wei Junshi, the governor of Huayin in the ninth year of Taikang in the Jin Dynasty (288), led the people to plant more than thousands of cypresses along the road from Xiyue temple to Chaoyuan cave in Huashan, and engraved numbers under each cypress tree as marks, forbidding people to graze and cut trees. After the tree is completed, the branches and leaves are green, like two lines of green umbrellas supporting on the roadside, to shade and shelter visitors to Huashan Mountain. It became a scene of Huashan and was recorded in historical books. Only a few of the ancient cypresses survived in the present baihang, including yunmenchi, the Great Wall site of Wei Dynasty and the middle ancient base of Xiyue temple.

Axe chopping stone is produced in many areas of China, especially in Wujin and Danyang of Jiangsu Province. Axe cleaved stone is a kind of hard stone. Its surface texture is similar to that of "axe cleaved" in Chinese painting. There are a large number of such stones in Chuankang area, Sichuan Province. However, due to its soft quality, it can be cut into layers, which is also called "mica flake". It is formed by long-term precipitation, and its content is mainly calcareous and carbonaceous. At the same time, although the color is mainly dark gray and black, there are also some changes such as red rust or light gray in the gray, which is caused by the change of iron content and other metal content in the stone. Because of its slender and strong shape, the axe cleaved stone is used as the cliff landscape of Jianfeng mountain, especially for its magnificent appearance and natural color. However, due to the small contrast of the change of the concave and convex of the bonsai, the technique is difficult, and the water absorption is poor, so it is difficult to moss, and the maintenance and management of the bonsai after forming is also difficult. This kind of stone shape is often used in large garden layout.
