Yucheng Bridge
Yucheng bridge, located in gulaitou village, Shengzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is a quasi catenary stone arch bridge with Yingxian bridge.
It was built in 1836. Keng Ju Ma is built by Xuan. There are records of bridge construction in Ma's genealogy. After the completion of the bridge, local villagers thought that the arch of the bridge was so flat that it might collapse and refused to pay. Ma Zhengxuan, in order to express his goodwill of building a bridge for the people, didn't pay for it, so he named it Yucheng bridge. It has been more than 160 years since the bridge was built, and it is intact. This ancestral estate has been passed down by Ma's descendants and written into Ma's genealogy. The bridge is another excellent ancient bridge type newly discovered, which has been included in the history of Chinese science and Technology (bridge volume).
