Qingyun Confucian temple is located in Qingyun, 28 kilometers southeast of Yanshan County. It was built in the sixth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. Dacheng hall is the main building of Confucian temple. The ridge of the hall is covered with emerald tiles. At the end of the ridge, there is a carved brick head, with gilt tiles hanging on the top and four corner cornices. There are 12 pillars inside. The base is 1.6 meters above the ground.

Confucian temple, also known as the Academy. The edification place of Confucius in Chinese feudal dynasty is the representative building of Confucian culture. The repair of Confucian temples in local prefectures and counties began in the period of Zhenguan of Tang Dynasty, and was the most perfect in Ming and Qing Dynasties. In the second year of the founding of the people's Republic of China, Zhu Yuanzhang issued an imperial edict to build a Confucian temple in the world, and the worship of Confucius became more and more popular.

According to the records of Qingyun county annals in the fourth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty, Qingyun Confucian temple was built by Yang Siyi, the first county magistrate in the sixth year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, and it tended to be perfect in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. Qingyun Confucian temple is a typical three entrance courtyard layout, which is from south to north as follows: Zhaobi, lingxingmen, panchi, Minghuan temple, Xiangxian temple and halberd gate; the middle courtyard is Dacheng hall, East veranda, West veranda and stele corridor; the backyard is Minglun hall, Zunjing Pavilion and Chongsheng temple. On the left are Wenchang Pavilion, Academy, shepu, etc.

Dacheng hall is the main building of the Confucian temple. The statue of Confucius is divided into four parts on the left and right: Zongsheng Zengshen, Fusheng Yanhui, Shusheng Zisi, and Yasheng mengke. On the East and West altar, there are ten sages, and the East and West wings of the temple are dedicated to 72 sages. The whole building has complete facilities and functions, giving full play to the important role of Confucian temple in worshiping sages and sages, understanding human relations, following the principles and customs.

However, the Confucian temple in Qingyun is different from other counties, which can be seen in the existing Dacheng hall. Dacheng hall is built on the steps nearly two meters high. It adopts the single eaves structure of verandah style. The ridge of the hall is covered with green tiles, with two brick heads, gilt tiles on the top and four corner cornices. This is the third level of ancient architecture. But his superior Cangzhou Confucian temple only adopted Xieshan style single eaves architecture, which shows the high standard of Qingyun Confucian temple. As for the reason, only the builders know it. It is the rich style of writing here, the large number of literati, or the emperor's special approval, can only cause us endless reverie.

Around the halberd gate of the South courtyard of Qingyun Confucian temple are the famous official Temple and the Xiangxian temple. The famous officials' ancestral hall is dedicated to Xue Dading, Yang Siyi, Zhang Biao and other well-known officials and magistrates; the Xiangxian's ancestral hall is dedicated to Li Yu, Li Ziyi and other celebrities from Qingyun.

The 600 year old cypresses in the courtyard were planted at the beginning of the construction of the Confucian temple, and the dense tree rings witnessed the rise and fall of Qingyun. According to the local old people, after the Qing army entered the pass, Qingyun city was conquered by the Qing army, and the ancient cypresses of the Confucian temple, nearly 300 years old, withered immediately, which seemed to show that the loyal officials did not protect the loyalty of the two masters. Until Qingyun's political situation was stable and the people lived and worked in peace and contentment, the old cypresses sprouted again, and the old trees and leaves were flourishing again.
