Baibu Bridge

At the south end of Wanping South Road, Longhua port leaves Huangpu. It used to be a wooden bridge. It is about 100 steps long, so it is named because it spans baibutang (Longhua port). There is no examination of the time when it was first built. In 1613, the wooden bridge was badly damaged. Zhang, a native of the city, saw that his salary advocated the construction of a stone made of wood, which cost more than 6000 liang of silver in three years. Since then, it has been built many times from Kangxi to Guangxu. Among them, the reconstruction in 1780, the 45th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, took three years to complete. Fan Yanjie's record of Baibu bridge says: "the bridge is built according to the Wannian bridge in Wujun county. Two stone shuttle piers are built on both sides of the bridge? The bridge is 24 Zhang long and more than 2 Zhang wide, like a dragon and a rainbow. It is the Grand View of the city.

According to the inscription on Baibu bridge written by Wang Chengji in Shanghai in the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, it is said that " Compared with the completion of the project, it is even amazing that the silver is 3000 yuan. The bridge is 19 feet long and 2 feet wide. The shuttle pier is made of stone. It is still in the old site. The bridge deck is made of brick and stone, and the railings are made of wood and iron.

Big event

In beitu of Baibu bridge, the original Temple of Shi Xianggong in Wolong nunnery (no research on the construction date) is used for the statue of Shi Xianggong and the stele of Jiaqing bridge. Opposite to Wolong Temple is Fu Temple, which was built in April of the 14th year of Guangxu. Before that, Qiaotu had no ancestral temple, so it was called "qiaoshenting". There is a pair of stone column couplets embedded in the gate of Ford Temple: "a hundred steps across the rainbow beam, the weather re invests the people's power"; "a pavilion is like a bird's wing, and the rain and wind make it convenient for pedestrians to have a rest.". The couplet on the foundation stone of Shentang is: "the golden rope opens the road, the treasure raft crosses the maze", which is related to the bridge.

When the Anti Japanese war broke out, the Japanese army opened the road from Baibu bridge to Longhua Road to occupy Longhua Airport, and built Baibu bridge at the same time. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, cars began to open on the bridge. At the end of the Anti Japanese War, in order to expand Longhua Airport, the Japanese army demolished Qiaotu temple and lost all the steles.

A 3-hole concrete bridge deck with a width of 5.2 meters, a lane in the middle and pedestrians on both sides, with a carrying capacity of 20 tons, will be built. The original bridge was demolished and rebuilt in February 1982 and completed in May 1983. It is still a three hole concrete bridge with a length of 50 meters, a width of 12 meters and a carrying capacity of 100 tons.
