Kuzhuhe Grand Canyon

Kuzhu river is a boundary beach in the upper reaches of the Lishui River, which flows from Sangzhi to Yongding. It is next to the Maoyan River scenic spot in Yongding. Located on the right bank of the river, kuzhu ancient town is an important part of Chixi River scenic spot in Jiutiandong. It is 7.2km away from the County waterway and 18.5km away from the highway.

The Li River flows around the southwest. On the other side is the geomantic treasure land "xiane Baodan" chieftain "guanfen mountain" at the northern foot of the western boundary, and the top of Asian karst cave "Jiutian cave" and fengluanxi scenic spot known as "xiaotianzi mountain". Qingxi is surrounded by mountains and rocks in the southeast of the ancient town. It passes through the stone arch bridge and flows into the Li River. In the middle is a gentle slope, fertile fields and orchards alternate, stone path and traffic. Along the river, there are stilted buildings with green tiles and wooden houses, shops and restaurants on the street, and the roads and lanes are paved with blue stones, smooth and well arranged. The ancient Tujia temple, Guandi temple and other street buildings are towering, with stone based brick walls, rolling eaves and corners. They are magnificent, simple and elegant in shape, and the stage of the temple fair is basically well preserved. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was a waterway trade port in Yongshun, Dayong, Longshan and Sangzhi. In xiezu Town, the merchants were boating on the river. The port was prosperous and developed, and the ancient town was famous.

Geology and geomorphology

Both sides of Maoyan River are dominated by karst landforms, and there are sand cliff peak forest landforms. According to the investigation of geological department, Maoyan River, Wentang and luotaping are ne structures, which are composed of qinganping Yangjiawan syncline. The Cambrian Louguanshan group is exposed in the core of the anticline, and the Triassic Daye Formation is located in the core of the syncline, which is a marine carbonate formation. The rock strata are mainly limestone, dolomite and marlite, with thousands of karst caves on both sides. However, in Maxi, shuangfengya, hanxigou and other places of luotaping Township, the rock stratum is Silurian Devonian quartz sandstone. After long-term wind and rain erosion and deep cutting of streams, there is Zhangjiajie quartz sandstone peak forest landscape.

It is suitable for four seasons recreation. The number of comfortable sightseeing days in the whole year is about 260.

MaoYan river is the main water system in the scenic area of MaoYan river. Its tributaries include kuzhu River and Zhenghui river. The river has many rapids. The average width of the riverbed is 30-50 meters, and the water depth is 5-7 meters. It is clear to the bottom. The average annual flow is 146-168 cubic meters, and the gradient of the river is not large. It starts from kuzhu River and ends at daxikan Chenjia River, with a total length of about 50 kilometers and a height difference of 64 meters.
