Dongshan National Forest Park

Dongshan National Forest Park is the only one in Fujian Province among the 59 National Forest Parks approved by the State Forestry Administration in December 2002. It is also the only Island County National Forest Park in China. The park is composed of Chishan forest farm and dongmenyu scenic area. Chishan forest farm was formerly Chishan seaside Forest Park in Dongshan, covering an area of 11772 mu. Dongmenyu, covering an area of 0.94 square kilometers, is one of the four famous islands in China.

Development history

Dongshan National Forest Park is developed on the basis of Dongshan state forest farm. In 1988, Dongshan Forest Farm actively developed the tertiary industry in order to get rid of poverty. In the Department of forest farm, we have built a forest Hostel, a restaurant, a dance hall, a parking lot, a repair shop and other supporting facilities.

In 1992, Dongshan National Forest Park seized Yang Yu and applied for the establishment of Dongshan National Forest Park, with a planning area of 94227 mu.

The National Forest Park was approved by the Ministry of forestry on November 4, 1992. Due to the proper management and management of the park, considerable economic benefits have been created.

On March 9, 1994, it was rated as one of 20 national forest demonstration parks by the Ministry of forestry.

In 2001, it was rated as AA scenic spot by the National Tourism Administration, which brings great opportunities for the development of the park.

Main attractions

Lookout tower

There is a orchid garden in the scenic spot of the lookout tower. There are peacocks, pheasants, macaques and other wild animals in the lookout tower. There are many orchids in the orchid garden, such as tiger head orchid and lotus petal. The lookout tower imitates the ancient architecture of Wangmu Pavilion in the county, with a total of three floors, overlooking Xiangyun, Weishan and some beautiful mountains and rivers in our county. Yunhai Villa

Dongshan Temple

Dongshan temple, also known as Songhe temple, was built in the early Ming Dynasty. It is composed of the ancestral hall, Lingguan hall, Dashi Pavilion, baizhaidong cave, cloister, Haihui tower and other main buildings. It is an architectural community integrating Buddhism and Taoism. The original temple was mainly built on the cliff. After many fires and many repairs, only part of the original cliff temple has survived. The main temple has been moved to the magical flat on the hillside. Dongshan National Forest Park is located on the hillside of Dongshan mountain, 5km east of Xuanwei City. The scenic area is mainly composed of Dongshan temple, Haihui tower and revolutionary martyrs cemetery. It is also a provincial tourist scenic spot approved by Fujian Provincial People's government.
