Development history

Shanghai Songnan park is a natural form, using tall trees such as Metasequoia glyptostroboides, oumeiyang and Cinnamomum camphora as the background, forming a sense of rhythm, which not only enriches the forest edge line, but also gives people a kind of line beauty. More than 20 years ago, it was farmland. After the reform and opening up, a large number of houses were built nearby, so this place was designated as a park.

Plant community

Songnan park is a multi-level plant community, in which Cinnamomum camphora, Cedrus deodara, cixiaozhu, Prunus hongyeensis, Chimonanthus praecox and Camellia are mainly planted. Large trees, small trees, large shrubs, small shrubs and ground covers form different levels according to their own ecological requirements and interdependent conditions, so the seasonal changes are relatively rich. For visitors to enjoy the edge of the forest, the vertical layer composition should be very prominent, but it can not be fully filled, so that visitors can enjoy the unique profound beauty of the forest. In order to make visitors go deep into the forest, there is a natural garden road in the dense forest, and a round Pavilion is built in the Garden Road, so that visitors can enjoy the scenery and have a rest at the same time. It's like walking back to nature. Dense forest planting, large area of the use of sheet mixing, generally do not use the belt mixing, but also pay attention to the evergreen and deciduous, arbor and shrub forest proportion, and the requirements of plants on ecological factors. Mixed forest is gorgeous and colorful. From the biological characteristics, it is better than simple forest, so it is widely used in gardens. In the large green space, lakes are also interspersed, which brings vitality to the green space.

Standing at the main entrance is a monument to Xu Keqiang. Xu Keqiang's original name was Shixiang and his scientific name was Kaijia. In 1908, he came from a peasant family in nanxujiawan, Zhaojiabang village, Songnan town. The boy joined the revolution and was arrested twice. After he was released from prison, he went to the Soviet Union, Changzhou and Taiyuan to join in the Anti Japanese war. In the most difficult years of the Anti Japanese War, Xu Keqiang, who was the Secretary of the county Party committee of Zhongtai County in the Soviet Union, went to the battlefield to carry out the work of consolidating and expanding the Anti Japanese base areas. On July 2, 1942, when leading a group of people from the county Party committee and town government to break through the Japanese puppet siege, in order to cover the transfer of troops, they gave up their young lives.

Shanghai Songnan park also has a teahouse, an activity room for the elderly and a children's paradise. For tourists to rest and play here.
