Zagestai Grand Canyon, located in the middle of Wusun mountain, was the place where the ancient Silk Road passed. Now the highway to Zhaosu county still passes through it. Along the Yizhao highway into the mountain, along the valley about 50 kilometers, beautiful scenery, Kazakh called here "geldesayi", meaning "cool wind blowing place".

Wusun, an ancient ethnic name in Northwest China, is an ancient nomadic tribe in China. From the 2nd to the 1st century B.C., Wusun Kingdom rose in the northwest of China, and later established a pivotal regime in the Yili River Basin. Wusun ancient road and XIATE ancient road are two main military roads in the Western Tianshan Mountains during the Eastern Han Dynasty. The distance between the two ancient roads is about 200 kilometers. XIATE ancient road is crossed by many people. The Wusun ancient road was first explored on foot in 2007. This hiking route has not been traversed by outdoor sports enthusiasts for many years. On July 21, 2007, nine Xinjiang outdoor enthusiasts successfully completed the exploration tour of Wusun ancient road after nine days. This crossing is the first exploration in 58 years. Wusun ancient country used to be a large area, and now Yining City in Xinjiang and the nearby counties of Zhaosu, Gongliu, Xinyuan, Tekes and nilek were part of Wusun ancient country, most of which were occupied by Czarist Russia. Qiuci ancient country is now Kuqa, Baicheng area in Xinjiang. The Wusun ancient road refers to the ancient road from Wusun state to kuci state, which passes through the north and south of Tianshan Mountain. There are many roads. Now national highway 217 (Duku highway) is the most popular Wusun ancient road at that time.

In 1945, the revolutionary army of the three districts set out from kunkushitai, passed akbulakdaban, and arrived at Heiying mountain, the ancient road of bandandon Wusun in Baicheng. Taking this as the base, they turned to the West and captured Baicheng. In the course of continuing to attack Aksu to the west, he encountered tenacious resistance and counterattack, and finally captured the south entrance of XIATE ancient road and returned to Ili via XIATE ancient road.
