Riverside Park

Binjiang park is located in the center of Yichang City, lying on the Bank of the Yangtze River. It is 3.8 km long and 65 m wide on average. It covers an area of 17 hectares, including 12.5 hectares of green space. It is an open park near the street and water. In the past, the riverside park was a river beach. With the construction of the Gezhouba Project on the Yangtze River, the government invested more than 50 million yuan to build an 800 meter long embankment along the river. In 1984, the municipal government invested more than 10 million yuan to build a number of scenic spots, such as shuangting GUANGTANG Zhenjiang Pavilion. In 2001, in order to coordinate with the landscape reconstruction along the river, Yichang municipal government invested funds to add fireworks lights, outline lights and spotlights in shuangting square, and to add a row of landscape lights at the guardrail along the river, which has become an eye-catching landscape. All green of Binjiang Park constitutes the main color of Binjiang park. Among the green trees and flowers, Zhenjiang Pavilion, Quyuan statue and Nanxi basin garden are integrated with Riverside Avenue, Riverside revetment and Yiling Yangtze River Bridge. Their scenery is picturesque and unique. Riverside Park is 55 meters above sea level, close to the water level of the Yangtze River, and can be opposite to the river. The long and narrow green garden of the park is just like a color belt set on the edge of the city, just like a Street Gallery. It is known as "the first garden of the Yangtze River" and is a must for tourists to Yichang.

Riverside shoreline viewing area is located in the north of the park, about 2 km riverside shoreline. During the construction of the park, we make full use of the unique geographical location and environmental advantages of the area. By setting a landscape platform, increasing the access to the water body, and landscape treatment on the surface of the original wave wall, we not only maintain the function of the flood prevention embankment in the area, but also strengthen the viewing function of the area and the spatial continuity with the park landscape, so as to extend the riverside landscape of the park It has become an important part of Huangpu River ecological landscape corridor.

The planned area of the park is 300 hectares, and the first phase is now 120 hectares. Within the park, the riverside coastline is 2 km, the Baoshan paotaishan mountain and the lighthouse on the opposite side of the Pujiang River are clearly visible, and the Changxing Island and Hengsha Island in the Yangtze River Estuary can also be clearly seen in the clear sky. The park itself is rich in forest resources and tourism resources. Under the construction theme of "nature ecology wild interest, protection innovation development", about 10 hectares of land in the park is listed as the overall protection area. 200000 trees and shrubs and 204 kinds of wild plants in the original nursery are selectively protected, which fully reflects the wild interest and natural features of the forest park, and still retains the strong primitive flavor of the nursery Island, swamp, wetland, reeds, forest and other urban rare local wild interest. Riverside Forest Park has basically formed a set of Suburban Forest Wetland ecosystem, including sub ecological artificial forest, artificial forest landscape community and riverside wetland landscape. The forest coverage rate of the park reaches 90%. As it is located in the migratory zone of birds, there are marshes, wetlands, reeds, forests and other habitats suitable for wild animals and birds, so the park is rich in amphibians and birds.

The garden also makes full use of the existing Begonia forest and Magnolia forest, taking plant landscaping as the keynote, fully showing the ornamental value of plants, forming a unique garden of all kinds

Special plant scenic spots: magnolia garden mainly composed of Magnolia and Michelia, rose garden mainly composed of Begonia and cherry, Rhododendron Garden mainly composed of Rhododendron, and hygrophytic botanical garden rarely seen in Shanghai The Rhododendron Garden, which covers an area of nearly 100 mu, has planted more than 20 varieties, including spring Rhododendron, hairy Rhododendron, summer Rhododendron, Alpine Rhododendron, and nearly 5000 plants.
