Chongqing Caiyun Lake National Wetland Park is located in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing, with a total area of about 1605 mu. It is divided into Jiulongpo District and high tech Zone. It used to be a smelly pond surrounded by the city, but now it has become a beautiful landscape.

Chongqing Caiyun Lake National Wetland Park is located at the junction of Jiulongpo District and high tech Zone in Chongqing. It is constructed by Jiulongpo District and high tech Zone (40 hectares). It is a combination of the eastern part of Erlang high tech park and taohuaxihe Park, with a total area of 1605 Mu and an investment of 730 million yuan.

Caiyun lake reservoir is the first and larger artificial lake built in the main urban area of Chongqing. Planning started in 2003 and comprehensive construction started in June 2007. According to the planning, the completed Caiyun lake will become an ecological lake with an area of about 300 mu and water storage capacity of 1.68 million cubic meters.

In 2005, with the strong support of Chongqing landscape Bureau, Chongqing Planning Bureau, Jiulongpo District and other relevant units, the park concept and planning scheme design was officially launched. Under the unified command and coordination of the Municipal Bureau of landscape architecture, the park construction closely focuses on the five functions of "ecology, wetland, fitness, leisure and recreation", and adopts the construction mode of overall planning, unified design and separate implementation by the two districts. The western part of the park was started in December 2008 and completed in October 2009; the new construction of the eastern part of the park and the improvement of the construction quality of the western part were started in January 2010 and completed on July 1, 2010.

In November 2009, experts from the Ministry of forestry visited the park and confirmed the park as a national urban wetland park. The park was officially named "Chongqing Caiyun Lake National Wetland Park".

On July 1, 2010, Caiyun Lake Park, the first National Wetland Park in Chongqing, was officially opened for free.

Infrastructure

Caiyun Lake Park is planned to be divided into five relatively independent and interconnected functional areas: ecological landscape area, which mainly uses the existing Taohua river system to form an artificial lake; jiulongba cultural and leisure landscape area, which provides tourism, entertainment and leisure supporting services; sports and leisure area, which is equipped with football, tennis, swimming pool, etc.; waterfront landscape area; and wetland ecological demonstration area, which will be around Taohua river Create a rare wetland landscape in the city. In the Wetland Park, more than 50000 plants have begun to play the role of dredging. The park has become a place for free leisure, sports and fitness, tourism and ecological science popularization, and can carry out fishing, camping, picnics, bird watching and other activities for all ages.
