Weixi Township

Weixi township is located in the northeast border of Chengbu Miao Autonomous County, 62 kilometers away from the county, and at the junction of Wugang City and Xinning County. The township governs 15 administrative villages, including Anfu, Huashan, Zhengchong, Pangu, Xinglong, Baisha, Lianyun, Qijia, Jianping, Jiangkou, zhuanlong, Zhuansheng, Chengtang, Changdian and Xuehua, 107 villager groups, with a population of 8274 (2017), and a total area of 83 square kilometers (2017) .

There are 6056 mu of cultivated land, 0.74 mu per capita, 69264 mu of forest land, including 67807 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens, 8 mu per capita. Phyllostachys pubescens is not only the natural barrier of the township, but also the industry for the people to survive. 90% of the fiscal revenue of the township comes from Phyllostachys pubescens. In October 1990, the township was named "Nanzhu township" by the province, which is the leader of the bamboo sea in Chengbu. The territory of streams, clear bottoms, high mountains, dense forests, birds, four seasons, pleasant climate. Silver fir, a national treasure known as "plant Panda", grows in Shajiao cave, a 100 square kilometer National Forest Park in the township. Weixi reservoir belongs to type II reservoir, which is the source of 50% drinking water and 68% paddy field irrigation in Wugang City. In particular, copper and manganese are concentrated into veins, which can be mined for more than 50 years. The infrastructure of Weixi is relatively complete. Xiwei and Jiangping highways run through the whole township. Every village has access to roads, telephones and high-voltage electricity. 35000 volt substations are under construction.
