Duozhuang reservoir is located 1.5km southwest of duozhuang town. The upstream control basin covers an area of 56 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 12.77 million cubic meters. It was built in 1966 and basically completed in October 1967. In 1968, it was continued to be built, and the dam body thickening, dam slope leveling, dam dry block stone, drainage body and other projects were completed. Irrigation started in 1970. From 1971 to 1972, annual maintenance was carried out. In 1976, a 50 meter wide extraordinary spillway was excavated on the right side of the dam. From 1977 to 1978, the anti scour and reinforcement works of the spillway were completed to make it reach the flood control standard of "once-in-100-year design and once-in-500-year check". The dam slope was renovated and afforested in 2018. Located in the upper reaches of xibaliu River, the irrigation area controls 35000 mu of cultivated land in duozhuang and Wenzu towns, with a designed irrigation area of 20000 mu. There are two main irrigation canals, Yuejin and Longsha. Yuejin main canal is connected to the high discharge tunnel of the reservoir, with a design flow of 2.15 m3 / S; Longsha main canal is connected to the low discharge tunnel of the reservoir, with a design flow of 0.85 m3 / s. After the completion of the reservoir, the flood peak of xibaliao river will be reduced, the safety of downstream Dazhan reservoir and Jiaoji railway will be guaranteed, and the flood disaster in the northern region will be reduced. Since the beginning of irrigation, the water difficulty of 25500 people in 15 villages of duozhuang and Wenzu towns has been solved. The reservoir water source is sufficient, but because the canal system all flows through the limestone area, the leakage is serious. In 1985, the irrigated area was 6000 mu.

Environmental facilities

During the "three inspections and three determinations", it was determined that the safety flood control standard was once in 500 years, the corresponding water level was 305.1 meters, the total storage capacity was 11.89 million cubic meters, the Xingli storage capacity was 10.94 million cubic meters, and the dead storage capacity was 300000 cubic meters. The dam is a sand shell dam with clay core, 468m in length, 37.5m in maximum height, 307m in crest elevation and 1m in wave wall height. The spillway is at the left end of the dam. There are three 10 × 6m flat steel gates with an elevation of 298.3m at the bottom of the gate and a 10m overflow dam with an elevation of 304.3m at the top of the dam. The extraordinary spillway is at the right end of the dam, with a width of 55 meters and a bottom elevation of 302 meters. The length of the high-level drainage tunnel is 50.5m, and the outlet elevation is 291.4m; the length of the low-level drainage tunnel is 138m, and the outlet elevation is 279m. The design discharge is 1.3 m3 / s and 0.85 m3 / s respectively. At the outlet of the low discharge tunnel, a hydropower station was built in 1983, with one 75kW and one 40kW unit each. The project started on December 12, 1966, and completed the main project of the reservoir in August 1968. Later, it was renovated, added and reinforced. There are two main canals in the irrigation area, Yuejin and Longsha. Yuejin main canal is connected with the high discharge tunnel of the reservoir, and the design flow is 2.15 m3 / s. The main canal of Longsha is connected with the low discharge tunnel, and the design flow is 0.85 m3 / s. The length of the two main canals is 33.9 km, including 5 main canals and 5 branch canals, with a length of 37.1 km. There are 198 main and branch canal buildings and 10 tunnels. The designed irrigation area is 1007 ha, and the effective irrigation area is 620 ha. The actual irrigation area is 433.3 HA in 1985. Since the completion of the reservoir, the flood peak of xibalou river has been reduced in the flood season, the safety of the downstream reservoir and railway has been ensured, and the flood disaster in the northern area of Zhangqiu county has been reduced. Since the beginning of irrigation, the grain yield has increased year by year. In 1985, the grain yield per hectare increased from 1980 kg to 4537.5 kg. At the same time, the problem of water intake for 25500 people in 15 villages of duozhuang and Wenzu mountain areas has been solved.
