In 2006, Menglin united with other organizations of people living with HIV in China to establish the "China Alliance of people living with HIV". This is the first national alliance formed by organizations of people living with HIV, including more than 60 organizations of people living with HIV in seven regions. The Secretariat of the alliance provides technical support and seed funds for the members of the alliance, and strengthens the work network construction of the infected organizations.

In the second half of 1995, Menglin developed various opportunistic infections. There was no hospital reception.

On March 18, 1996, Meng Lin was admitted to a hut next to the mortuary of You'an Hospital.
