Ni Tianzeng ancestral residence exhibition hall
Ni Tianzeng's ancestral home is located at 33-35 Hong Kong South, Xitang town. Architecture in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.
Ni Tianzeng (1937-1992), the former vice mayor of Shanghai, was born in Ningbo. His ancestral home is Jiashan, Zhejiang Province. His grandfather Ni zujin was a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. His father Ni Weixiong received a new education since childhood. In 1929, he went to Yinxian county government to serve as the chief of the construction section and the director of the construction department. Since then, he has settled in Ningbo. He is a highly respected public servant of the people.
In April 1999, the people's Government of Xitang town raised funds to build the exhibition hall of Ni Tianzeng's ancestral home, which was rebuilt and expanded in June 2006. The ancestral home is five rooms wide, facing north and south, covering an area of 627.1 square meters. Now there are three entrances, hard mountain top. The first entrance is a bungalow with a width of 16.3 meters and a depth of 8 meters; the second entrance is a two-story building with a width of 13 meters and a depth of 10.7 meters; the third entrance is a two-story building with a width of 9 meters and a depth of 8.3 meters. The total construction area of restoration is 428 square meters. With rich materials, historical materials and photos, the exhibition hall reproduces the outstanding achievements and public servant image of Comrade Ni Tianzeng.
In January 2004, the ancestral home of Ni Tianzeng was announced as a county-level cultural relic protection unit. Now it has become a base for youth patriotism education and a base for clean government culture education.
