Yuanjiang River in spring

Yuanjiang spring is one of the eight scenic spots in Wuzhou. That is, after the confluence of Guijiang River and Xunjiang River (upper reaches of Xijiang River), the clear water of Guijiang River and the turbid current of Xijiang river flow at the same time, one turbid and one clear, one urgent and one slow, with a clear distinction between the two. It is commonly known as Yuanyang River, and is highly praised by Su Dongpo, a great poet of Song Dynasty as "the incomparable Yuanyang River in the world". Yuanyang river has a beautiful scenery. When you look around, you can see the West River is vast and flowing; Guijiang river is green and sparkling. At the confluence of the two rivers, it's like mandarin ducks playing in the water, cuddling with each other, embracing each other and staying together forever.

It is said that Su Dongpo, the great poet of the Song Dynasty, was pardoned when he was passing by Wuzhou. On the night of the Mid Autumn Festival, he was boating on the Yuanyang river. Facing the clear and muddy river, he could not help thinking a lot. He wrote a poem praising: "I love the clear flow and frequent attacks on the boats. The beautiful Yuanyang river is unparalleled in the world." The name of Yuanyang River also spread from the people. "Yuanjiang spring flood" is listed as the first of the eight scenic spots in Wuzhou. All the tourists who visit Wuzhou are marvelous. At the end of 1984, Wuzhou City opened a scenic spot called "Yuanjiang spring flood" at sanjiaozui on the West Bank of the river. The simple and elegant pavilions and the undulating and tortuous coastal corridor attracted many tourists to watch the surging East River, the wonders of the clear and turbid river, and the ancient Yunsheng pagoda on the volcano on the south bank. In June 2000, Yuanjiang River Bridge was built at the junction of Yuanjiang River, which is more convenient for tourists.
