The total planning area of Xiaonanhu scenic spot is 1.661 square kilometers, of which the water area is 0.962 square kilometers. The layout of Xiaonanhu scenic spot is "W" with a horizontal shape. One horizontal is Hunan Road, and the blank part in the middle of "W" is the water surface of Xiaonanhu. There are two islands in one pool and five gardens in three pavilions. One pool: the water surface of Xiaonanhu lake is connected with the main lake through two long bridges, forming a relatively independent quiet pond with garden architecture; the other island: it refers to the island extending from the South and north directions of Hunan Road and Hunan bank to the lake, and the two islands are facing each other.
