Sanhualou
Sanhualou, built on the Bank of the famous Royal Garden Mahachi. This building was built by Yang Xiu, king of Shu in the early years of Sui Dynasty. It is roughly located near the exhibition hall of Renmin South Road.
Development history
Sanhualou is not "overlooking tower", its name is supposed to originate from "tiannu Sanhua", so it is more romantic, gorgeous and imaginative than Zhangyi Lou. Chengdu people are familiar with sanhualou, probably because of one of Li Bai's Poems "dengjincheng sanhualou": Rizhao jinchengtou, chaoguang sanhualou. Gold window with embroidered door, pearl foil hanging silver hook. Flying ladder in the green cloud, the extreme eyes disperse my worries. Dusk rain to the Three Gorges, spring river around Shuangliu. Today's visit is like a nine day tour.
The fate of sanhualou is similar to that of zhangyilou, which was destroyed by the invasion of Mongolian army at the end of Song Dynasty. How can these nomads know how to cherish an ancient building? In the early Ming Dynasty, the city building of yinghuimen in the east gate of Chengdu was named "sanhualou", but it was just a wishful image.
