Shenzhen Bay Sports Center (spring cocoon)

Shenzhen Bay Sports Center is located in the northeast corner of Nanshan Houhai central area and the middle part of Shenzhen Bay 15 km coastal leisure zone, adjacent to Hong Kong. It is the main venue of the 26th Summer Universiade in 2011. Its stadium, gymnasium and swimming pool are placed under a huge white grid steel roof, which looks like a spring cocoon. The sports center includes stadium, gymnasium, natatorium, athlete reception service center, sports theme park and commercial operation facilities. After the Universiade, it will be open to the general public, and there will be some sports events and large-scale performances from time to time.
