Zhongshan Art Museum

Zhongshan art gallery is a state-owned Municipal Art Museum, which belongs to Zhongshan Museum and is one of the branches of Zhongshan Museum.

Since its opening in November 2002, Zhongshan Art Museum has held more than 20 temporary exhibitions every year, which are free of charge, by using the existing collection resources, introducing exhibitions, cooperating in exhibitions and other ways. By the end of 2007, a total of 112 exhibitions had been held, with a total of 417000 visitors per time.

brief introduction

Zhongshan art museum is located in Qijiang Park, West District, Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. It is the main building of the park and the first art museum in the history of Zhongshan City. Qijiang Park used to be the famous Yuezhong shipyard in Zhongshan. As a symbol of the development of socialist industrialization in Zhongshan, the shipyard began in the early 1950s and ended in the late 1990s. In May 2001, Zhongshan municipal government transformed Yuezhong shipyard into a park. The original site of Zhongshan art museum was the workshop of Yuezhong shipyard. After the workshop was transformed into Qijiang Park, Zhongshan municipal government decided to transform the workshop into Zhongshan Art Museum. In 2002, Zhongshan art museum began to prepare for construction, and was officially completed and opened to the outside world on November 6, 2002.

Using the concept of "big art", Zhongshan Art Museum takes the fine works of Zhongshan artists of past dynasties as the main collection direction. Through various collection channels such as artists' donation and social donations, Zhongshan Art Museum has collected a number of donated works by artists at all levels, and the collection function is gradually improving. By the end of 2007, the collection had reached 199 pieces / set. The representative ones are Xie Fu's traditional Chinese painting "produce more food for the country", Hu huanliang's traditional Chinese painting "ancient ancestral temple and small bridge", Hu Guoliang's oil painting "kapok tree at the foot of Wugui mountain", Tu Zhiwei's oil painting "girl in white skirt", Li Xiaoru's calligraphy "cursive banners", etc.

Zhongshan art museum is located in the heart of Qijiang Park. This two-story steel structure building, which was the main building when Dr. Harvard and other design experts did landscape planning and design for Qijiang Park, is a beautiful integration of Qijiang Park in terms of shape design and color matching. The two-story steel structure buildings are in the same line with the post industrial characteristics of the original Yuezhong shipyard in Qijiang Park. The iron blue steel frame, bright lemon yellow walls and large floor glass of the art museum make it extremely European. The decoration designer of the art museum said that the use of iron blue and lemon yellow, the two colors with the strongest aesthetic contrast, as the main tone of the art museum is to build the art museum into a most modern and eye-catching scenic spot of Qijiang Park. Art and garden art complement each other, and will become a brilliant stroke in the urban planning and construction of Zhongshan City.

The author is Wu yunzong, named chunye. He was born in kuchong village of Xiangshan County in 1911. He was a member of Zhongshan Art Association, a member of Guangzhou Municipal Academy of fine arts. He was a director of Zhongshan propaganda team, a director of Zhongshan red flag Opera Troupe, a leader of the creation group of Zhongshan Federation of literary and art circles, a special teacher of Zhongshan College of Chinese painting and calligraphy correspondence University, a consultant of Zhongshan poetry society, Zhuhai poetry society, Foshan Zhuhai painting and Calligraphy Association, Zhongshan CPPCC painting studio, Zhongshan Zhuhai painting and Calligraphy Association for the elderly. Oil painting was selected in the first art exhibition of Guangdong Province (1950). His works include chunye poetry notes and Wu yunzong's works.
