Qiqihar Medical College is located in the hometown of world-famous Red Crowned Crane and the Bank of Nenjiang River. Founded in 1946, the college has a history of 67 years. Campus planning covers an area of 1.1 million square meters, building area of 270000 square meters.

The college has 25 teaching institutions. At present, there are 4623 teaching staff, of which more than 900 are at the level of deputy higher vocational education. Among the full-time teachers, 63% have doctor's or master's degrees. At present, there are 18623 students in general education, adult education and international students. There are 19 undergraduate majors, covering five disciplines including medicine, science, engineering, management and law.
