Jiangsu Police College is the only undergraduate college of public security politics and law in Jiangsu Province. It is one of the first provincial public security colleges established in China. The headquarters of the college is located in Andemen, Nanjing, with two campuses of Longtan and Pukou. The campus covers an area of more than 1000 mu, with a building area of 164000 square meters (the main campus of Pukou under planning covers an area of 190000 square meters). At present, there are eight comprehensive laboratories for trace inspection, forensic chemistry and criminal investigation, and the total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is more than 32 million yuan. There are shooting hall, police sports training hall, police driving training ground, technical and tactical training simulation block, standard sports ground and other training venues. The library has more than 600000 paper books, more than 600000 e-books and 1300 Chinese and foreign periodicals. Eight public security characteristic databases have been developed and constructed. The campus network and public security information network with advanced facilities have been built. The digital campus has begun to take shape. Nanjing Chinese fingerprint museum is the first fingerprint Museum in China. 59 practice bases have been set up in public security and judicial organs and legal intermediary institutions in the whole province. It is the first provincial public security college in China to pass the undergraduate teaching evaluation organized by the Ministry of education and get a good conclusion.

After years of construction and development, the college has formed a discipline pattern with the characteristics of public security, with the law as the main subject, the coordinated development of engineering, management and other disciplines. At present, the college has 7 teaching departments (departments) including the Department of public security management, the Department of public security management, the Department of investigation, the Department of public security science and technology, the Department of law, the Department of Ideological and political theory, and the Department of police physical education. It has 12 full-time undergraduate majors (directions) in investigation, public security, economic crime investigation, administrative management, criminal science and technology, computer science and technology, and law, as well as 12 full-time undergraduate majors (directions) in investigation, security, law, etc Public security management, traffic management, fire management and other five specialty. At present, there are nearly 8000 full-time students, 402 full-time teachers, 155 teachers with senior titles, and 174 teachers with doctor's and master's degrees. Among them, there are 6 training objects of "333 project" in Jiangsu Province, 21 training candidates of "Blue Project" in Colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province, and 43 teachers have obtained the qualification of criminal technology appraisal. More than 20 well-known experts and scholars, including Liu Yao, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and special expert of the Ministry of public security, have been employed as part-time professors, and 73 high and intermediate training part-time instructors have been employed from the public security organs. Through the platform of "Public Security Bureau growing up forum", leaders and experts of public security organs at all levels of the province often come to the school to give lectures.

The college always adheres to the school running tenet of serving the public security work and the construction of the public security team, adheres to the principle of "building the police by politics" and the policy of "strictly administering the police and the school", adheres to the combination of teaching, scientific research and judicial practice of public security, follows the law of higher education, highlights the characteristics of public security education, and strives to cultivate satisfactory talents for the employing units of public security organs We should learn the school spirit of "diligence, steadfast style, strict discipline" and the school motto of "selfless dedication". Over the years, the college has trained more than 30000 graduates for public security, political and legal organs at all levels and security departments of other units in the province. Graduates have accounted for one third of the total number of public security police in the province, and three-quarters have become the backbone of public security business. Among them, our graduates account for about half of the leading cadres of public security organs at all levels in the province. In recent years, the average employment rate of graduates of various majors has remained above 90%.
