University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences), or "National University of science and technology" for short, is a unique university officially approved by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. The predecessor of the National University of science and technology is the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Founded in 1978, it is the first graduate school in New China approved by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. It has trained the first doctor of science, the first doctor of engineering, the first female doctor and the first double degree doctor in China. In 2014, the University of science and technology will start to recruit undergraduates.

Based on the high-level scientific research advantages and high-level talent resources of the research institutes of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the university has formed a "University" composed of four campuses in Beijing, five education bases outside Beijing and 117 research institutes throughout the country. The school implements "unified enrollment, unified education management, unified degree awarding" and "integrated leadership system, teaching staff, management system, and training system"; it improves the "two-stage" training mode of curriculum teaching and research practice in the centralized teaching campus; It has formed a complete education system with the National University of science and technology as the core and platform, and the Research Institute as the basis and extension. At present, there are more than 41200 graduate students in the University, 50% of whom are doctoral students. So far, the National University of science and technology has awarded a total of 109882 postgraduates with master's and doctor's degrees.

The University of science and technology of China has a high-level tutor team composed of faculty and research institutes, and a first-class scientific research environment for students to carry out scientific research practice. At present, there are 12658 instructors, including 330 academicians and 6185 doctoral supervisors. Three national laboratories, 84 national key laboratories, 163 key laboratories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 41 national engineering research centers (laboratories) and many national cutting-edge scientific research projects are distributed in each Research Institute, providing a grand scientific research practice platform for students' training.

National University of science and technology has a unique advantage and complete discipline system. It has obvious discipline advantages in mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy, geosciences, biology of science, mechanics, materials, energy, electronics and communication, automatic control, computer and other professional fields of engineering. While maintaining the advantages of basic disciplines of natural science, the construction of applied disciplines, emerging interdisciplinary disciplines, humanities and social sciences has been strengthened in recent years. The University of science and technology has a complete discipline system, with 39 first-class disciplines authorized by doctoral degree, which are distributed in six disciplines: pedagogy, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and management; There are 53 first-class disciplines authorized by the master's degree, which are distributed in 10 disciplines of philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and management, covering 54 first-class disciplines. In addition, the University also has eight professional degree authorization points in engineering, business administration, applied statistics, applied psychology, translation, agricultural extension, pharmacy and engineering management. In addition, each Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also has 169 postdoctoral mobile stations.

The University of science and technology has a wealth of books and modern teaching and research conditions. The National Science Library of China (hereinafter referred to as the National Science Library) is shared by the National University of science and technology. The National Science Library has rich collection resources and electronic literature. Students can borrow and inquire freely, and can also consult professional literature in the libraries of various branches or research institutes. The teaching facilities of the university are excellent, and modern teaching means such as multimedia and network video education are fully applied. The University of science and technology of China pays attention to the quality of teaching, strictly manages teaching, strengthens the construction of teaching staff, publishes a large number of high-level professional teaching materials, and encourages the use of excellent original English teaching materials and English teaching.

Based on the extensive international scientific and technological cooperation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of science and technology of China has established close ties and cooperative relations with the MARPOL Institute of Germany, the National Research Center of France, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Sciences and many world-famous universities, and jointly established the "China Denmark Institute" with the Ministry of science and education of Denmark and universities.
