North China University of technology is a multidisciplinary institution of higher learning with engineering as the main body, arts and science as well as bachelor's, master's and doctor's training levels and the recruitment qualification of high-level baseball and softball athletes. It has the qualification of exemption from examination for master's students and is the "excellent engineer education and training" institution of the Ministry of education. The school is jointly built by the central government and Beijing Municipality, and is mainly managed by Beijing Municipality. Its predecessor is the "national Beiping Senior Industrial Vocational School" founded in 1946. After several changes, in 1985, with the approval of the State Council, Beijing Institute of metallurgy and mechanical engineering changed its name to North University of technology.

Subject and specialty

The school has 11 colleges and 20 departments, including school of computer science, School of electronic information engineering, School of electrical and control engineering, School of mechanical and material engineering, School of architecture and art, School of civil engineering, School of economics and management, School of grammar, School of science, School of Marxism, School of continuing education, etc. There are 43 undergraduate majors. The university has seven subjects: Science, engineering, arts, economics, management, law and arts. In recent years, scientific research achievements have won 6 second prizes of national science and technology progress award, 1 Lu Xun Literature Award and more than 50 provincial and ministerial awards. The university is an important base of the capital's science and technology platform. It participated in the construction of the capital world city smooth traffic Collaborative Innovation Center, and was responsible for tackling the theoretical and applied technology problems of complex traffic system control in mega cities.
