Songyuan vocational and technical college is located in Songyuan, a beautiful riverside city. It is the only public higher vocational and technical college registered by the Ministry of education. It is jointly built by Songyuan municipal government and Jilin oilfield enterprises. It is a new school running mode of Vocational Education in China.

At present, the college has seven departments, including mechanical and electrical engineering, petroleum engineering, bioengineering, information engineering, normal education, economic management and adult education development center. It offers 22 majors including primary education, preschool education, mechatronics, welding technology, oil and gas exploitation technology, drilling technology, marketing, gardening technology, hosting and broadcasting, computer application, applied electronic technology, construction engineering technology, secretary, hotel management, etc.
