Nanjing Artillery College of PLA

Nanjing Artillery College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army, approved by the Central Military Commission, was established in 2011 by the merger of the former Artillery Command College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army and the Nanjing Branch of the former Artillery College of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. The former Artillery Command College was formerly known as Yan'an artillery school, the First Military Academy of the people's Liberation Army established in Nanniwan, Northern Shaanxi in 1944. The former Nanjing Branch of the former Artillery College was formerly known as the East China Field Army Special longitudinal special subject school established in mantangpo, Yishui, Shandong in March 1947. The two schools have trained more than 120000 artillery and air defense command talents for the whole army.

Nanjing Artillery College is located in the former site of the former Kuomintang army artillery school. In 1931, the Kuomintang opened the first arms school in the period of the Republic of China. It was the only artillery school in the country at that time. It was known as "Tangshan artillery school" in history. Its status was second only to the Army University and Huangpu Military Academy.
