Jinzhong normal college was established in March 2010 with the approval of the Ministry of education. Its predecessor is Shanxi Taigu normal school founded in 1949 and Shanxi Taihang normal school founded in 1985. The school covers an area of 418.76 mu, with a total construction area of 147100 square meters and a collection of 463200 books. It has 6781 students, 455 teaching staff and 317 full-time teachers. Among them, 88 are associate professor or above, 147 are graduate degree teachers, 28 are national or provincial honored teachers, 12 are Provincial discipline leaders and 1 is top-notch talent in the city. There are 28 school level backbone teachers and 15 professional leaders. The school now has 10 departments and 23 majors, which recruit students from Henan, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other provinces around Shanxi Province.
