The Hong Kong Baptist College is a private institution of higher learning founded by the Hong Kong Baptist Association in 1956. It is committed to providing holistic education. In 1983, the then Baptist College was fully funded by the government and became a public tertiary institution. In 1994, it was renamed the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).
Today, there are eight faculties offering bachelor's, associate's and higher diploma courses, as well as master's and doctoral courses of course and research type. The University attaches equal importance to teaching and research and encourages its staff and students to serve the community. With the idea of holistic education, HKBU is now one of the best institutions of higher education in Asia.
