Gansu Agricultural Vocational and technical college is a 100 year old full-time ordinary vocational college directly under the Department of education of Gansu Province, which recruits senior high school and vocational high school graduates from northwest provinces. The college is located in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu Province, on the Bank of the Yellow River, covering an area of 282 mu (180 mu of teaching practice farm), with a building area of 45200 square meters. The college has advanced multimedia classroom, multi-functional electronic classroom, voice room, electronic reading room and digital image editing system. The library has a collection of more than 150000 books. At present, there are 186 in-service staff, including 124 full-time teachers, 3 professors and researchers, 48 associate professors and 52 lecturers. Two teachers are entitled to special government subsidies, and four are provincial backbone teachers. More than 98% of the teachers have bachelor's degree. There are 35 postgraduates. Five teachers are studying for master's degree in agricultural extension, educational technology, agricultural economy, financial accounting and other majors. There are 2650 students in the school.

The college has 7 training centers, 25 professional laboratories and 20 off campus practice bases.
