Baotou Light Industry Vocational Technical College

Baotou Light Industry Vocational and technical college is the only full-time higher vocational college of light industry in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was founded in 1956 and is subordinate to Baotou municipal government. It is located in the downtown area of Baotou, the "grassland steel city", the intersection of Huzhou Baotou and Hubei golden triangle, and adjacent to Baotou Maoming and Beijing Tibet expressway.

The school covers an area of 1200 mu, with a construction area of 300000 square meters. It has more than 200 on campus experiment and training rooms and off campus practice and training bases, with a total value of nearly 100 million yuan of teaching and training equipment. It has a modern library with complete functions and more than 845000 books. It has built a high bandwidth and high-performance campus network with 100000 MB routing switch as the core, 10 Gigabit switch to the building and Gigabit switch on the desktop.

At present, there are more than 12000 full-time students, more than 1000 teaching staff and nearly 700 full-time teachers, including more than 200 teachers with senior professional titles, more than 10 teachers with doctor's degree, more than 200 teachers with master's degree, and nearly 300 "double qualification" teachers. Many teachers have been rated as famous teachers in the autonomous region. The school has 15 secondary colleges, one affiliated secondary technical school and one affiliated vocational high school. It has more than 50 Higher Vocational Majors, including food, mechanical and electrical, chemical, energy, testing, finance, biology, automobile, art, information, agriculture and forestry. It has 16 excellent courses in the Autonomous Region, 10 brand majors in the autonomous region, 1 key construction major in the autonomous region, and 6 excellent teaching groups at the autonomous region level Team. In 2007, it was rated as "excellent" in the Ministry of education's personnel training level evaluation. In 2012, it passed the second round of the Ministry of education's personnel training level evaluation. In 2013, it became one of the first batch of Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges in Inner Mongolia.
