Shanxi Polytechnic of light industry

Shanxi Light Industry Vocational and technical college was founded in 1958, formerly known as Shanxi light industry school. It is a public higher vocational college at the junior college level approved by the provincial government and registered by the Ministry of education.

The college has seven departments including light industry and chemical engineering department, mechanical and electrical information engineering department, business administration department and art design department, and 19 Higher Vocational Majors. Among them, "fine chemical production technology", "material engineering technology", "food nutrition and detection" and other majors are the shortage of Talent Training Majors in Higher Vocational Colleges in Shanxi Province; "decorative art design" is the pilot major of higher vocational education reform in Shanxi Province.

The college has a team of high-quality teachers. There are 1 Director of the Ministry of education, 1 deputy director of Shanxi Higher Vocational Talents Training Committee, 1 Director of Shanxi Higher Vocational Chinese Course Teaching Steering Committee, 1 deputy director of Shanxi Higher Vocational Computer Course Teaching Steering Committee and 1 member of Shanxi Higher Vocational English Course Teaching Steering Committee. In recent years, 14 key scientific and technological projects of Shanxi Province, educational reform and scientific research projects of the Ministry of education and Shanxi Province, and scientific research projects of colleges and universities of Shanxi Province have been presided over or participated in by teachers of our college.

The college has built a number of practice and training places suitable for major setting. There are "National Vocational Skill Appraisal Institute of Shanxi light industry", "national training base of electrical, electronic and automation", "provincial demonstration training base of decorative art design" and "Haier training center", the only "Haier training center" of Haier Group in Shanxi Province. More than 30 off campus training centers have been established by relying on Shanxi Xinghua village Fenjiu (Group) company, Shanxi Gucheng dairy company and other enterprises In recent years, the base has maintained a high employment rate of graduates.
