Applicant: Dali County, Shaanxi Province

Tongzhou Bangzi is one of the ancient operas in Shaanxi Province. It originated from Dali in Shaanxi Province, also known as "Donglu Qinqiang" or "laoqinqiang". It has a long history, there has been a special performance club in the late Ming Dynasty. Tongzhou Bangzi's singing music belongs to banqiang style, mainly including "26ban", "adagio", "erdaoban", "liushuiban", "baseplate" and "gunban". Its singing can be divided into joyous and bitter tones because of different melodies. The accompaniment bands of Tongzhou Bangzi are divided into wenwuchang: the instruments in Wenchang are mainly composed of two strings, supplemented by Amber (Yueqin), Banhu, erhu, suona, Sanxian, pipa, dizi, Guanzi, Haidi, Sheng, etc.; the percussion instruments in Wuchang include Yazi, bangu, Tanggu, Bangzi, Shougong, Yunluo, Daguo, cymbal, jiaozi, etc. Tongzhou Bangzi has a wide range of performances, including Zhengdan, laodan, Laosheng (Xusheng), Hualian, wusheng and so on.

There are more than 1000 traditional operas of Tongzhou Bangzi, some of which have been lost, and more than 200 copies have been copied. They are mainly historical operas, which have both culture and martial arts, including classic works such as "huangjiangong", "breaking Ningguo" and "anti Wuguan".

Tongzhou opera has a profound influence on other operas in Shaanxi Province and other operas of Bangzi opera, which has played a positive role in promoting the formation of these opera styles.
