Shanghai Xingjian vocational college is a full-time higher vocational college approved by Shanghai Municipal People's government and registered by the Ministry of education.

In 2001, the College presented itself on the stage of Shanghai Higher Vocational Education with new ideas, new mechanisms, new teaching facilities and new features. With higher vocational education as the main body, the college also has adult higher education center, vocational skills training center, community education center and Shanghai TV University Zhabei branch. After ten years of unremitting efforts, the college's higher vocational education now has five departments, including preschool education, information technology and mechanical and electrical engineering, economic management, business foreign language department, and Applied Arts Department, with more than 20 majors. At present, there are nearly 12000 students of all kinds, including more than 5000 full-time vocational students. In addition to Shanghai students, we also recruit students from Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Hubei, Henan, Shandong, Anhui and Guizhou provinces. So far, the college has become a higher vocational college in Shanghai with the continuous improvement of the quality of students and employment, social popularity and reputation.

The college adheres to the school running concept of "student-oriented, helping students succeed" and takes "cultivating students' ability, shaping students' personality, and conveying useful talents for the harmonious development of society" as the school running guiding ideology. It has formed regional, universal, unique and international school running characteristics, and actively explores new ways of joint school running with domestic and foreign educational institutions. At present, some majors of the college have established contact with many universities in the United States, Japan, France, Australia, Germany and other countries, and run jointly with domestic and foreign undergraduate universities and well-known enterprises.

In recent years, a number of masters and doctors have been introduced to enrich the teaching team. At the same time, a number of famous professors and experts have been employed to take part-time and part-time courses in the college.

In the past ten years, adhering to the motto of "improving morality and self-improvement", the college has carried out education and teaching reform in a pragmatic, pioneering and innovative way, achieved good school performance and won a good social reputation. From 2003 to 2008, the employment rate of graduates for six consecutive years exceeded 95%. In 2002 and 2006, it was awarded as "advanced unit of Shanghai Vocational Education" by Shanghai municipal government twice. In 2007, 2008 and 2009, he was awarded the advanced group of volunteers in Shanghai. From 2002 to 2008, the college was rated as a municipal civilized unit for four consecutive times. In 2008 and 2009, it was successively rated as "learning party organization" at bureau level. In 2009, the achievement of "data collection platform for talent cultivation in Higher Vocational Colleges" won the second prize of the Ministry of education. In 2010, "children's piano playing and Singing Course" was listed as a national excellent course. Han Zheng, mayor of Shanghai, Yin yicui, deputy secretary of Shanghai municipal Party committee, and other leaders have visited the college for research.
