City University of Hong Kong (CityU) is one of the eight tertiary institutions funded by the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is a young, progressive, international and multidisciplinary university. The University adheres to the motto of "respecting industry and enjoying the masses", and is committed to providing professional education and applied research. It provides more than 180 high-quality undergraduate and research degree courses at different levels and majors to about 25000 students every year. A highly International University

CityU has a strong faculty with international education and teaching background. At present, there are about 1100 teachers from 25 countries, including one winner of fields and Wolff awards, eight world-class academicians, 58 lecture professors, more than 500 holding doctorate degrees from well-known overseas universities, and 150 having long-term full-time teaching and research work in overseas universities.

The teaching idea and method of CityU are internationalized, the teaching language is English, the seminar teaching is implemented, and the credit system is adopted. The course content highlights the integration of theory with practice, the course design keeps pace with the times, emphasizes the integration with the international community and market, and pays attention to market orientation and employment prospects.

So far, the university has established more than 460 cooperation and exchange projects with 290 universities and scientific research institutions in 41 countries and regions. Urban college students can participate in student exchange programs, summer exchange visits and internships.

A university in Hong Kong for Greater China

The Pearl of the East is full of wind and cloud; the international metropolis is full of sun and moon. Hong Kong provides an environment and convenience for the development of CityU, which adds color and strength to Hong Kong.

"Located in the city, used in the city, give back to the city" just describes the characteristics of our city. Today, the walls of the city are also expanding. In recent years, CityU has made great efforts to expand in-depth cooperation with educational and scientific research institutions in the mainland. In particular, it has combined the scientific research forces of Hong Kong and the mainland to jointly develop high-tech industries and improve the quality of higher education in both places, contributing to China's education

(1) In September 2005, Chengda signed a contract with Shenzhen municipal government, officially settled in the National University Science and Technology Park "Hong Kong University industry university research base", and established Chengda Shenzhen Research Institute as a base for developing applied research, breeding industrial projects and promoting teaching and training in the mainland;

(2) The joint higher research center of City University of Hong Kong (Suzhou) of University of science and technology of China (USTC) was officially put into operation in Suzhou Industrial Park in October 2005, and the joint master's and doctoral programs of the two universities are in operation;

(3) In 2008, Chengda was approved by the Ministry of science and technology of the people's Republic of China to set up the millimeter wave State Key Laboratory, becoming the first State Key Laboratory in the engineering field in Hong Kong.

(4) In 2005, Chengda was listed by the Ministry of education as one of the first batch of key universities to be admitted by the country. According to the enrollment procedures and methods of key universities in the mainland, Chengda recruited excellent high school graduates from the mainland. In the past four years, 782 excellent high school graduates from the mainland have been enrolled in 25 provinces and cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Fujian, Guangdong, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Tianjin, Liaoning, Guangxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Hainan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Jiangxi, Anhui, Shanxi, Jilin, Hebei and Heilongjiang.
