Ezhou Vocational University, founded in 1984, is a public full-time higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of education. The school is located in the hometown of wuchangyu, the ancient capital of King Wu, the central city of Ezhou.

In 2006, the school was awarded the excellent college of talent training level evaluation in higher vocational colleges. From 2008 to 2010, it was built into a model higher vocational college in Hubei Province. In 2012, it was identified as a national model (backbone) higher vocational college. The university has been awarded the honorary titles of advanced collective of national language and writing work, provincial civilized unit, advanced unit of employment of college graduates in Hubei Province.

The school now covers an area of 1598 mu, with a total construction area of about 550000 square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 572 million yuan, the total value of teaching equipment is 92.25 million yuan; and the collection of books is 1.114 million. There are 12 colleges (departments) with 52 majors and more than 18000 students enrolled in 2018. At present, there are 685 full-time teachers, including 246 professors and associate professors, 837 part-time teachers and 14 "Chutian skilled teachers". In the past three years, the teacher has published 780 papers, compiled 137 teaching materials and Monographs in domestic and foreign academic journals, won 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 3 third prize of provincial teaching achievements, completed 294 subjects (including projects) at all levels, completed 716084 person days of various training, and accumulated 16.9092 million yuan of various technical service income in three years.

The school has 2 training bases (centers) supported by the central finance, 3 training bases (centers) of Vocational Education in Hubei Province, 112 training rooms in the school, 289 off campus internship bases with cooperation agreements, and 4 training centers with cooperation agreements; It has built 2 key majors of central finance supporting social service ability improvement, 7 key majors of Hubei Province, 2 talents training programs of strategic pillar (emerging) industries in Hubei Province, 1 national excellent resource sharing course, 8 National Excellent Courses and provincial excellent courses, 1 provincial excellent resource sharing course, and 2 teaching teams of colleges and universities in Hubei Province.
