Xiamen City University

Xiamen City Vocational College is established with the approval of Fujian provincial Party committee and government. It is held by Xiamen municipal government and put on record by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. It is a higher vocational college based on the integration of educational resources of Xiamen Radio and Television University, Xiamen Institute of education and Xiamen University of staff and workers. The college integrates higher vocational education, distance open education, adult education, academic non academic education and labor skills training, with large scale, wide specialty and complete functions. With beautiful environment and advanced teaching and living facilities, the college is a digital, humanistic and modern green campus.

The main campus of the college is located in Qianpu South Road on the east coast of Xiamen Island, adjacent to the beautiful Huandao Road in the south, Lianqian Avenue in the north, xiaojinmen island across the sea in the East, and Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center in the northeast. It covers an area of 306.64 mu with a construction area of more than 100000 square meters. The library has a total collection of 179400 books. It has three large-scale full-text databases, including CNKI China Journal Network, Wanfang Data Resource System, and China Digital Library Online reading. It also has a campus network supported by Gigabit Ethernet technology. It has a domestic leading modern distance education network center, audio-visual education Studio Center, online live broadcasting system, two-way video, multimedia classroom, and multi-media There are many teaching and research facilities, such as body language laboratory, multimedia computer laboratory, multimedia audio-visual reading room, CAI courseware studio, etc. In addition, the track and field stadium, basketball court, volleyball court and other sports teaching and various public service facilities are complete, and the modern sports art museum is under construction, providing good conditions for teachers and students to study and live.

At present, there are 234 teaching staff. There are 165 full-time teachers, including 2 teachers with senior professional titles, 48 teachers with deputy senior professional titles and 46 postgraduates. At present, there are 2212 vocational college students, 4192 adult education students and 7900 open education students. At present, higher vocational colleges have set up such majors as accounting computerization, finance and insurance, secretary, business English, preschool education, legal affairs, computer application technology, electronic information engineering technology, audio-visual technology (computer music production), foreign tourism, exhibition planning and management, e-commerce, marketing, international trade practice, communication technology, art design, etc. Distance open education and adult education have set up more than 10 majors, such as accounting, international trade and marketing. The college strengthens the construction of experimental training base inside and outside the school. At present, there are 47 on campus experimental training bases and 23 off campus training bases, including Xiamen Jianfa, Xiaxin electronics, Xiamen Convention and exhibition, Xiamen Personnel Bureau and other enterprises and institutions.

In the teaching content and specialty construction, the college adheres to the market-oriented, based on the existing school running ability, timely adjusts the specialty setting and talent training plan according to the social needs, pays attention to updating the teaching plan, and makes it consistent with the market demand through the dynamic management of the teaching plan. In the aspect of personnel training, the college takes "educating people" and "adult" as its own responsibility, and constructs the personnel training target system from the ideological and moral quality to the scientific and humanistic quality to the professional innovation quality, so as to promote the students' personality development, all-round development and harmonious development.
