SMIC International announced on July 4 that Dr. Wu Jingang, the company's core technical personnel, recently applied for resignation due to personal reasons and completed relevant resignation procedures. After leaving, Dr. Wu Jingang no longer holds any position in the company.
According to the announcement, Wu Jingang joined SMIC in 2001. From 2001 to 2014, he successively served as assistant director, director and senior director. Since 2014, he has been the vice president of technology research and development. During his tenure, he was responsible for participating in the research and development and management of advanced technology of FinFET.
As for the impact of the resignation of core technical personnel, he said that the company's technology research and development work is normal at present, and Dr. Wu Jingang's resignation has not had a significant adverse impact on the company's overall R & D strength. Through long-term technological accumulation and development, the company has established a complete R & D system. The company always attaches importance to the training and construction of the talents, attaches importance to the training and selection of potential employees, and forms an expanding R & D team and deep talent pool. The company has the talent foundation of maintaining advanced technology and continuous innovation. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, the number of R & D personnel of the company was 2096, 2530 and 2335, accounting for 11.86%, 16.02% and 13.50% of the total number of employees respectively, and the number of R & D personnel remained stable.
