[plant morphology] Polygonum axillary

Annual herbs. Stem prostrate, much branched, 15-30 cm long; branches scattered, weak, smooth or with white slightly rough lines, internodes usually shorter than leaves, leaves small, alternate, linear, narrowly oblong or slightly spoon shaped, 6-18 mm long, 2-5 mm wide, apex obtuse, base gradually narrowed into a short stalk; Stipule sheath transparent, edge tearing. The flowers are very small, with short stalks, 1-3 clustered in the stipule sheath; perianth less than 2 mm long, 5-lobed, lobes green, margin white; stamens 8; style 3. Achenes ovate, 3-ribbed. The flowering period is from May to June.

Born in the wild, in the wilderness, on the roadside. It is distributed in most areas of China.

[function indications] it can promote the excretion, remove dampness and kill insects. It can cure Vickers, scabies, Yin erosion and Ascaris.

[usage and dosage] oral: decoction, 3-5 yuan.

[selection] ① for urinary tract infection and calculi: Xiao Ruixu, Pedicularis equisetifolia, Qu Mai. Take it by frying.

② To cure Ascaris lumbricoides: Xiaorui store is steamed with vinegar.

③ Treatment of jaundice: Xiaorui store with Cinnamon Twig or tartary buckwheat leaf decoction.
