Herbs perennial, 40-80 cm tall. Rhizome recumbent, with broad lanceolate brown scales. The leaves are clustered, oval, oblong, herbaceous, 25-45 cm long and 10-25 cm wide, with scaly hairs at the lower end when young, smooth when old, and 3-lobed; the pinnae are lanceolate, 10-20 cm long and 3-7 cm wide below the middle, slightly narrowed toward the base; the small pinnules are slightly far away from the base, asymmetric at the base, one is shortened at the lower side of the base, the edge is deeply lobed, and there are 2-3 sharp serrations at the top of the lobes; Petiole length 15-35 cm, straw color, smooth above base. The sporangia are large, round and kidney shaped, and grow on the venules below the leaves.
