[plant morphology] Artemisia ordosica

Herbs annual, ca. 60 cm tall, all densely pilose. The taproot is long columnar, yellowish brown, with fine fibrous roots. Stem erect, cylindrical, densely pilose, upper part much branched. Single leaf alternate, oblong, 4-6 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, pinnate, lobes 3-4 mm wide, both sides densely pilose. The inflorescence is about 6 mm in diameter, arranged in panicles, with yellow flowers. The outer flowers are female, filiform, and the inner flowers are bisexual, tubular. The achene is very small, with a row of crown hairs. It blooms in summer.

Born in wasteland, roadside. It is distributed in Yunnan and Sichuan.

[chemical constituents] the whole herb contains alkaloids, saponins, phenolic substances, acidic substances and trace volatile oil.

(1) expectorant effect

The results showed that the decoction, water extract, alcohol extract and crude saponin had obvious expectorant effect (phenol red method). The speed of mucus transport by tracheal cilia was promoted in anesthetized rabbits after taking water extract. The crude saponin also has the same effect, but it is slow and slightly weak.

② Antiasthmatic effect

Guinea pigs had a certain antiasthmatic effect (histamine spray method) by applying Decoction and crude extract (decoction concentrate and ethanol to remove precipitates). In the isolated guinea pig trachea test, the crude extract, water extract and alcohol extract could resist the contraction of trachea smooth muscle induced by histamine, and the effect of water extract was stronger than that of alcohol extract.

The crude extract of barium chloride has obvious antispasmodic effect on isolated rabbit intestines. Decoction has no antitussive effect on mice.

③ Bacteriostasis

In vitro, the decoction had some inhibitory effects on common respiratory pathogens.

[toxicity] the toxicity of decoction, water extract and alcohol extract was very low in mice. The activity, appetite, excretion and body weight of the rabbits were not significantly changed after 30 days of oral administration of water extract or alcohol extract 3 g / kg or 5 g / kg daily. [clinical application] treatment of chronic tracheitis

Remove the old stems and roots of Gentiana scabra, grind them, turn them into pills and coat. 1 g each time, 3 times a day, after meals. The results showed that jinlongdancao decoction had antibacterial effect on 7 kinds of bacteria, including Streptococcus A, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus haemolyticus, Bacillus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus albus, Staphylococcus aureus and catarrhalis.
