In 1996, Li Hong was admitted to the Chinese language and literature major of Jilin Institute of education. After graduation in 1998, he entered the host training class of Beijing Broadcasting Institute; in the same year, he entered Jilin TV station to host "evening news". In 2000, he presided over the 40th Anniversary Party of Jilin TV station.

In 2001, he entered Jilin satellite TV and presided over the morning news column live broadcast morning news. In 2002, he entered Jilin University and majored in Chinese language and literature. On September 13, 2019, he served as the host of the sub venue of the Mid Autumn Festival Party of China Central Radio and television in 2019 and cooperated with Wu Peng.
