Actor: George (1921 - June 29, 2007), born in Shanghai in 1921, lost his father at the age of three, formerly known as Xu Jiaju, pseudonym Xu CI. He is a national first-class actor, a member of Shanghai Dramatist Association, former head of Shanghai People's Art Theatre, and a famous performing artist. He once served as a member of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth sessions of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference. In 1939, he joined China France drama society and Shanghai drama society as an actor. In the drama "wilderness", "Ah Q zhengzhuan" and other plays to participate in the performance. In 1941, he performed such films as peach blossom lake, the end of time and the shadow of red tears. Since 1942, he has participated in Shanghai Art Troupe and played the leading role in such dramas as strange man in the bell tower and Begonia. He died at 23:15 p.m. on June 29, 2007 at the age of 86.

Witness history: most of life is dedicated to drama

A few days before his death, he was hospitalized for cataract surgery. The operation went well, but during his recovery, he suffered a heart attack and died. Fortunately, because of the sudden incident, there was not much pain before he left. His only daughter, Xu Dongding, revealed: "he left without any warning, and there was no time to leave any last words." His son-in-law Cui Jie said that it took only one and a half days from his illness to his death for him to "prepare a decent picture at home.".
