A brief introduction to folk belief custom (the belief custom of Qingshui patriarch)

Applicant: Anxi County, Fujian Province

The belief custom of Qingshui patriarch originated from qingshuiyan, Anxi County, Fujian Province.

The founder of Qingshui, whose name is "puzu" and the common name is "Chen rongzu" (also known as Chen Zhaoying, 1047-1101), is an eminent monk in Anxi, Quanzhou, Fujian Province in the Northern Song Dynasty. He practiced Taoism in qingshuiyan, Anxi, and is honored as the founder of Qingshui. The third volume of Fujian general annals written by Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty records the qingshuiyan in Anxi: "monks of the Song dynasty built a Taoist temple, and the stone gap in the rock was filled with rice. The villagers worship it and pray for the rain. " After the ancestor's death, the people were grateful and worshipped as the Buddha, with a strong fragrance. They were regarded as the most important local protection god by Anxi people, and also the protection god of Tie Guanyin by tea industry. It is widely spread in Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Myanmar and other countries.

During the Spring Festival every year, the main activities of the religious customs are to welcome the spring and travel around the country. During the three-day tour, a ceremony was held to offer flowers, tea and "three Zhonghuo" (worshiping Zhang Xun, Xu Yuan and Yue Fei in Yiyi Sanzhong Temple) to welcome Qingshui down the mountain in the form of tea.

The project is of great significance for inheriting Chinese civilization, enhancing the cohesion of the Chinese nation, and promoting the reunification of the motherland. At the same time, it has the research value of religion, folklore, and history.
