A brief introduction to the Fuxi festival of Taihao

Fuxi festival of Xinle is a sacrificial ceremony of Fuxi, the ancestor of Chinese culture, held in Fuxi Temple of Xinle City, Hebei Province.

According to historical documents, Xinle used to be the residence of Fuxi family. "Yetai" recorded in Shiji and "Yitai" recorded in Weishu are fuxitai, or "Xitai". "Ming Yi Tong Zhi" volume three said: "Xi Tai in Xinle County, there are inscriptions, the word is not readable." The site of "Xitai" still exists and is now a cultural relic protection unit in Hebei Province.

In Daye (605-617) of Sui Dynasty, Xinyue was named "Xihuang Shengli". During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the city of Xitai was abandoned, leaving a site. The ancient Fuxi temple was preserved on the stage. After several times of destruction and repair, it has always been the center of Xinyue sacrifice to Fuxi. There are three kinds of sacrificial ceremonies in the past dynasties: Royal Sacrifice, official sacrifice and people's sacrifice. After 1985, the ceremony of Fuxi temple was resumed, and the memorial day was the 18th of the third month of the lunar calendar. Local people and people from all walks of life actively participated in the ceremony, and Chinese, ethnic Chinese and foreign friends from all over the world came to participate in the grand ceremony.
