Applicant: anci District, Langfang City, Hebei Province
Jizhong Sheng wind music is popular in nearly 30 counties and cities south of Beijing, west of Tianjin and north of Cangzhou and Dingzhou. It is a unique type of percussion music in Jizhong plain. It is commonly known as "concert" among the people. It is also known as "Sheng wind music" because it is mainly played by Guan and Sheng. In addition to Sheng, pipe, flute and other wind instruments, Jizhong Sheng wind instruments also use cloud Gong, drum, cymbal, cymbal, Dangdang and other percussion instruments. The music of Sheng Guan music is divided into three categories: Suite, ditty and independent percussion music. The suite is a major part of the whole playing repertoire because of its long length and complex structure. Jizhong Sheng wind music is spread all over the whole Jizhong plain. Farmers in this area take the village as a unit to perform in local folk activities such as sacrifice and funeral, and inherit it from generation to generation in their own unique way.
Junlu village belongs to Yangshui Township, anci District, Langfang City, Hebei Province. The music tradition here has a long history. As early as before the Boxer Movement in the late 19th century, the village was known as the folk band organization form of concert, which has been active among the local people for a long time. Feng Zhaolai, the elder martial brother of the Boxer Movement, is a good pipe player and a main member of the concert in Junlu village. After the boxers set up an altar in front of the Sanguan temple in Junlu village, all members of the concert took part in the boxers. Feng Zhaolai believed that the boxers should be both civil and military, kill the enemy with military force, and inspire the morale of the soldiers with literature. Based on this idea, he expanded the scale of the concert and turned it into a "military music team" of the Junlu village boxer group. According to the different emotions expressed in the music, he selected, processed and adapted the original repertoire to serve the needs of the boxer group.
The concerts in Junlu village can be divided into arts and martial arts. Usually, there are 10 performers, 5 in Arts and martial arts. Wenchang musical instrument is composed of a pipe, a flute, a cloud Gong and two save Sheng. Wuchang musical instrument is composed of a pair of cymbals, a pair of cymbals, a drum or flat drum and two cymbals.
In the past, there were many pieces played in Junlu village concert, many of which are now lost. The music scores left by Feng Zhaolai in those years were burned in the cultural revolution. Now the old musicians recall and collate them into gongchi scores. The music scores handed down include tangtouling, wangjiangnan, langtaosha, Sanjiao, douquail, guajinsuo, liuhanyan, daobingji, cuizhulian, qiaotiaoshen, panjinling, daotijindeng and falling gold There are more than 30 poems, such as "money", "three arrows" and so on.
Junlu village concert originated from the folk, but also closely linked with the local people's struggle life, showing a distinct flavor of the times and regional characteristics, which has important information value in the study of the Boxer Movement and related history, culture and folk art. At present, the situation of the concert's inheritance is not ideal, and there is a lack of successors, which needs to be rescued and protected.
