Zhang Zhi, originally surnamed Ji, had the same initial name, with the word Yujue and the name Tianlu. He is the grandson of the Yellow Emperor and the son of SHAOHAO. Originally lived in Qinghe. Later, in the battle of Zhuolu, because he invented bow and arrow to help the Yellow Emperor defeat Chiyou, he was given the surname of Zhang, granted the title of marquis Yang of Qing Dynasty, and worshipped Gongzheng (the official position in charge of bow and arrow).

After the death of the Yellow Emperor, Zhuan Xu ascended the throne, and Zhang Zhi went to DiQiu (now Puyang, Henan Province) to assist politics. Later, Zhang Zhi died and was also buried in DiQiu.

At that time, Chiyou, the leader of the Jiuli tribe, made a riot, brutalized the people and disobeyed the orders of the Yellow Emperor. The Yellow Emperor then led the warlords to fight with Chiyou in the field of Zhuolu. However, several wars were defeated.

The Yellow Emperor was very angry and ordered Zhang to create weapons to assist in the war. Zhang Qian then observed arcstars at night, saw the shape of arcstars, and suddenly got inspiration to create bows and arrows to assist in war. The Yellow Emperor's army was invincible after using bows and arrows. Chiyou's army was defeated and killed by the Yellow Emperor.

Confer a surname on a marquis

The Yellow Emperor took credit for Zhang's creation of bows and arrows, so he gave his surname to Zhang and was granted the title of marquis Yang of Qing Dynasty. He also worshipped Gong Zheng (the official in charge of bows and arrows), worshipped arc star and lived in Qinghe.

To teach people

After Zhang Zhi created the bow and arrow, he taught people how to use it. The common people used bows and arrows to hunt, which solved the problem of food and clothing. Zhang Zhi was praised by the people.

DiQiu assistant government

After the death of the Yellow Emperor, Zhuan Xu, Zhang's cousin, ascended to the throne. His capital was located in DiQiu (now Puyang, Henan Province). Zhang also went to DiQiu to assist the government, but he was granted the land Qinghe. Zhang Zhi lived in DiQiu because of his assistant politics.
