Su qiaozheng

Su qiaozheng, female, was born in a musical family in Chaozhou, Guangdong Province in 1944. Her father is Su Wenxian, a famous zither player of southern school. Su qiaozheng is a member of China Musicians Association, China Traditional Music Association, China Nanyin Association, China Instrumental Music Association, vice chairman of Guangdong Branch of original music association, associate researcher of Guangzhou Xinghai Conservatory of music and member of Guangzhou guzheng Association.

Guzheng career

Due to the influence of his family, Su qiaozheng has studied art since childhood and received strict training in a good environment. He has completely and systematically inherited the interpretation techniques and performance style of Chaozhou guzheng for "string poetry". From 1961 to 1963, she went to Shenyang Conservatory of music to study zither with Zhao yuzhai, an educator of zither.

Decades of Guzheng professional career, so that her playing skills to the point of perfection. She learned from others and formed her own implicit, gentle and elegant performance style. Her performance of various schools of Zheng music and modern Zheng music combines hardness and softness, harmonizes emotion and spirit, has distinct style, meaningful charm, and is full of strong Chaozhou charm.

Su qiaozheng has visited Southeast Asia with Chinese Art Troupe, and held many personal concerts and theoretical lectures. In 1982, she was invited to attend the "second national Guqin score making conference" held in Xiangshan, Beijing. In 1985, she was invited to attend the third national Guqin score making conference in Yangzhou, the International Symposium on Buddhist music in Hong Kong and the International Symposium on Taoist music in Hong Kong. In 1983, Su qiaozheng was invited to give a "Su qiaozheng concert" at the Hong Kong City Hall and the Hong Kong Arts Center. In 1987, Su qiaozheng participated in the concert of "revitalizing the voice of China" jointly held by the Chinese Musicians Association, CCTV and China Central People's radio, and gave a wonderful performance. On July 14, 1989, Su qiaozheng held another "Su qiaozheng works evening" at the cultural center of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, and her superb performance made a sensation in Hong Kong and Kowloon. In November 1989, Su qiaozheng participated in the "Zheng Art Evening" held at the Shatin town hall, Hong Kong, and her outstanding performance won the applause of all the audience.

Su qiaozheng is not only an excellent guzheng player, but also an expert in Chaozhou music theory. She has deep research on Chaozhou music, especially in Chaozhou temple music. She has published many monographs and papers, such as "Chaozhou Temple ancient music", "Chaozhou string poetry melody theory", "comparison between Chaozhou big gongs and drums and Xi'an drum music", "comparison between Chaozhou big gongs and drums and Chaoyang flute set gongs and drums", "on the unification of fingering classification and notation of Guzheng", etc., and has recorded many CDs and tapes, which have been distributed at home and abroad.

Su qiaozheng now lives in Hong Kong and has taught in the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Academy for performing arts.
