[Festival dinner: harmonious reunion] pearl taro meat dumpling
Introduction:
"The Mid Autumn Festival is a traditional folk festival in China. It is a long-standing custom to eat taro in Mid Autumn Festival, but the meaning of eating taro in Mid Autumn Festival varies from place to place. In ancient times, the Mid Autumn Festival was a major festival for farmers. In northern rural areas, rice and millet are harvested only once a year in autumn. In the autumn harvest season, I look at the harvest of a year's hard work and think that it is the God of land and his ancestors who secretly protect themselves. Moreover, August 15 is the birthday of the God of land, so we should have a good bustle. When we worship the God on August 15, there is a tribute called taro. The whole taro is cooked and put on a plate, or the rice flour taro (the rice noodle soup made by adding taro) is put in a big bowl and placed on the offering table to thank the God of earth. Now the ceremony of thanking God no longer exists, but the custom of eating taro on Mid Autumn Festival has been preserved. The use of taro in Mid Autumn Festival is said to commemorate the killing of Tartars by Han people in the late Yuan Dynasty. It was on the night of August 15 that the Han uprising overthrew the tyrannical rule of the Mongols in the Yuan Dynasty. After the uprising of killing Tartars, the Han people sacrificed their heads to the moon. Later, of course, it was impossible to use taro instead of human head to sacrifice the moon on the Mid Autumn Festival. So far, in some places, peeling taro skin is called "peeling ghost skin" when eating taro on the Mid Autumn Festival. Eating taro in Mid Autumn Festival means to ward off evil spirits and eliminate disasters, and also means not believing in evil spirits. Qianlong of Qing Dynasty "Chaozhou Fu Zhi" said: "Mid Autumn Festival Play moon, peel taro food, called peel ghost skin.". The spirit of Zhong Kui's expelling ghosts is admirable. I remember reading an article before, taro has the meaning of "harmonious reunion". A family gathered to eat taro means that the family can be reunited
