Brief introduction to Baisha Xile of Naxi Nationality
Applicant: Gucheng District, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province
Baisha fine music of Naxi nationality, also known as "bengshi Xili", "BIE Shi Xili" and "BIE Shi Xili", is a classical music set composed of instrumental music, vocal music and dance created by Naxi ancestors. It is popular in Gucheng District of Lijiang City and Yulong Naxi Autonomous County.
In the long process of historical development, the ancestors of Naxi nationality were influenced by the "White Wolf's Poems" in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and "popular drinking, singing and dancing" (the book of man in Tang Dynasty). Later, they gradually became a nation full of philosophy and musical talent. There are two theories about the historical origin of Baisha Xiyue, one is that "Yuan's music is very popular and moving. It's said that the ancestors gave it away at parting, so it's called farewell ceremony"; the other is that it's the music of the Naxi people to pay homage to the war dead. There are different opinions, but there is no definite test for the time being. According to the genealogy of the late famous Naxi artist and Xi Dian, this music was popular in Lijiang at least 200 years ago. It shows the feelings of separation and nostalgia.
It is said that Baisha Xile has 10 tunes, of which 8 are extant, namely "Du", "a letter", "San Siji", "beautiful white cloud", "Princess cry", "stomping", "Nanqu" and "Beiqu". Instruments include flute, flute, reed pipe, Su gudu, xiaoquxiang pipa, guzheng, Erhuang and huqin, with at least 8 players playing in ensemble, accompanied by singing and dancing. Barefoot dance (stomping duel), Skylark (laoma duel), bow and arrow dance (anti duel), and White Crane Dance (Kua duel) were performed during the funeral. Baisha fine music is a perfect combination of yuan and Ming Dynasty music and Naxi folk music. It has been formed gradually for quite a long time. It has unique conception, instrumental music and song and dance, deep and wide artistic conception, lyrical melody, euphemistic and smooth melody.
At present, there are fewer and fewer successors who can play Baisha Xiyue in Lijiang. The governments at all levels and relevant departments in Lijiang have done a lot of effective work to promote Baisha Xiyue. They have formulated the Naxi folk music protection and management measures, established industry associations and workshops, specially taking Changshui village of Huangshan Town as its protection point, and named he Linyi as the inheritor to provide reference The corresponding conditions let him accept apprentices.
