Brief introduction of South China silk bamboo
Applicant: Taicang City, Jiangsu Province
Jiangnan Sizhu is a general name of Sizhu music popular in southern Jiangsu, Western Zhejiang and Shanghai. The band is mainly composed of erhu, Yangqin, pipa, Sanxian, Qinqin, flute, Xiao and other musical instruments.
During the Jialong period of the Ming Dynasty, the opera musicians headed by Wei Liangfu created Kunqu Shuimo tune in Taicang South Wharf. At the same time, Zhang Yetang, as the backbone, formed a complete scale of silk and bamboo band. They played by staff staff, Kunqu troupe and famous drummers. Later, they gradually formed a full-time silk and bamboo troupe. At the end of Wanli in Ming Dynasty, a new kind of music "Xiansuo" was formed in Wuzhong (Suzhou area), which can be regarded as the predecessor of Jiangnan Silk bamboo. It is closely combined with folk activities and has a broad mass base. Later it was officially named Jiangnan Silk and bamboo.
In the traditional techniques of silk and bamboo in Jiangnan, there are many techniques, such as you are complex and simple, you are higher and I am lower, adding flower variations, blocking the way, improvising and so on, and gradually form the style characteristics of "small, fine, light and elegant". This technique and style contains profound social and cultural connotations such as mutual humility, coordination and innovation between people. Silk and bamboo music comes from the folk and is rooted in the folk. It is easy to be popularized and has important folk cultural value. Jiangnan has a rich repertoire of silk and bamboo, with traditional music such as Zhonghua liuban, sanliu, Xingjie, Sihe and Yunqing. Nie Er once changed "daobaban" to "Golden Snake Dance", which soon became popular all over the country; Liu Tianhua's adaptation and creation of "variant new water order" has already become a famous music, which has had a far-reaching impact in the country. The emergence and continuation of Jiangnan Silk and bamboo music plays an important role in the study of national music history and the development of traditional opera, folk culture and mass culture. Jiangnan Silk and bamboo is one of the outstanding representatives of Jiangnan water culture.
In the 1960s and 1970s, the traditional silk and bamboo troupes in Jiangnan were dissolved by themselves. Up to now, the old artists over 70 years old have passed away one after another, and there is no successor. In addition, there are few traditional music scores, so Jiangnan Silk and bamboo are becoming increasingly endangered.
