Net boat fair is a popular water temple fair for fishermen in Minzhu village, wangjiangjing Town, Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province. Three temple fairs are held every year on Tomb Sweeping Day, Mid Autumn Festival and new year's Eve. At that time, tens of thousands of fishermen and boat people from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai will come to the temple fair one after another, and the boats will gather in front of the temple fair, no less than thousands of them.

The main god of the temple fair is called "General Liu Meng". It is said that Liu Chengzong, the general of locust control in the Yuan Dynasty. There is Liu Wang Temple in the local area, which is dedicated to Liu Meng. In history, the "locust God belief" formed by Chinese farmers to resist the locust disaster has been widely distributed and lasted for a long time. Now most of them have declined. Jiaxing net Boat Association can be regarded as a "living fossil" to study the history of ancient insect disaster, which has high historical value.

Over the past hundred years, the net Boat Festival has evolved into a festival for fishermen and boat people. In addition to offering sacrifices to gods, the attendants hold high the banner of the club, which also has the important cultural functions of recognizing ancestors and connecting feelings. Liansidang, a democratic village, is located in the south section of the Beijing Hangzhou Universiade. The people attending the net boat meeting are all related to the canal system. Most of the fishermen and boat people who have been wandering in the canal system for many years have certain social organizations, such as families and folk associations. They seldom have the opportunity to meet and communicate with each other. They rely on the net boat meeting three times a year to get in touch with each other. During the temple fair, fishermen and boat people from all over the country spontaneously perform the original folk arts such as Baojuan, Shenge, dragon dance, lion dance, Lianxiang, tiaohualan, Danghu boat, stilts, Dagang flag, Qingyin class, sedan chair, waist drum, drama, stepping on white boat, Zha Rou Tixiang, etc., which last for a week.

In the process of modernization, the net boat will face all kinds of embarrassment. On the one hand, land transportation is gradually replacing water transportation, and farmers and citizens who go to the temple fair often go by car, which is not in harmony with the original intention of the net boat fair; on the other hand, for the sake of water safety, water traffic management departments often implement traffic control during the temple fair, which leads to the evolution of the characteristics of the net boat fair, and it is urgent to take necessary measures to strengthen protection.
